Fairview Park Hospital Connecting Smartphone Users to ER Wait Times
Local hospital keeping patients informed with innovative Smartphone application
Dublin, GA (January 5, 2010) Fairview Park Hospital is using smartphone technology to give Dublin-Laurens County patients immediate access to its ER Wait Times on iTriage® -- a mobile acute care decision tool developed by Healthagen®.
Area Smartphone users can download iTriage from the app store for the iPhone® and from the market for Android or access iTriage at www.iTriageHealth.com. Healthagen developed the technology. It empowers consumers to evaluate symptoms, learn about the possible causes, find appropriate locations for treatment, and get quality information based on the type of facility. Fairview Park Hospital is the only hospital in the area with the iTriage application.
This technology comes on the heels of a recent text messaging application for Emergency Room wait times (you can text ER to 23000 for up-to-the-minute wait times). iTriage will be a great addition to the technology we already have set in place. Not only can our community see ER wait times but they can now access our website and other information about our facility on their handheld, Mike Hoskins, COO, Fairview Park.
By adopting this new wave of technology, Fairview Park Hospital becomes known as mobile healthcare solution leaders and also creates transparency around their emergency department wait times, explained Peter Hudson, M.D., CEO, Healthagen.
